Sears 1/2 hp garage motor stops after remote button pushed?

My garage door will start to open then STOPS immediately! No sensors on door, good chain & drive track, wheels on end tracks roll ok too. Door lifts 6 inches stops, drives back down, opens half way, stops and will not continue to open completely.
Remote batteries replaced, push button & wiring ok too. This started happening overnight. From 1 day to next. Could a bad motor be the cause?

where the chain goes into motor do you have an adjustment key that adjust the up and down? if so it might be thats the problem

where the chain goes into motor do you have an adjustment key that adjust the up and down? if so it might be thats the problem

Sears services what they sell. Call them and they will come out and fix it.

Not sure why you’re asking in cars and transportation though.

is there a "lock" switch on the wired push button? this sounds like how mine behaves when the electronic lock is engaged. just a thought.
