Sore underarms – what do I do now?

My armpits have gone a bit red and they hurt. I’ve been thinking that it’s because, for the past few days I’ve washed several times a day and might have used too much roll-on deoderant which dries the skin out , leading to chaffing or something. Is that what this is?

It started last night and I washed again this morning but I didn’t put any of the roll-on deoderant on because the bottle says not to use on irritated skin. However, they’ve still gone all dry and sore.

I can’t shave or anything because I don’t want to make it worse, and I don’t want to go out without deoderant on. What can I do to make them better?

Sorry if this is in the wrong category.
I’ll post it in the Skin & Body section as well.

You might try some Gold Bond Powder for a few days for the chafing and try not to wash so much. There is also a nice, soothing product made by Monistat for chafing. It’s in a blue tube and it’s a powder gel.

  2. You could have "razor burn," or be chaffed.

Put a triple antibiotic on it while sleeping. This should keep it from infecting and should also heal it.

Use a soap for sensitive skin also.
