My garage door will start to open then STOPS immediately! No sensors on door, good chain & drive track, wheels on end tracks roll ok too. Door lifts 6 inches stops, drives back down, opens half way, stops and will not continue to open completely.
Remote batteries replaced, push button & wiring ok too. This started happening overnight. From 1 day to next. Could a bad motor be the cause?

where the chain goes into motor do you have an adjustment key that adjust the up and down? if so it might be thats the problem

Knead flour, salt, oil and water into a medium-firm dough. Divide into 3 small round loaves, brush each loaf with melted butter and let sit for 1 hour.

Peel, core and slice apples. Mix in granulated sugar, raisins, grated lemon peel, lemon juice, rum, cinnamon.

Roast butter and bread crumbs.

Roll the dough loaves with a rolling pin, then stretch rolled dough on a strudel sheet with the backs of your hands.
Coat 2/3 of dough sheet with buttered breadcrumbs, spread apple filling over remaining 1/3 of dough.
Tear off edges, shape strudel into roll by lifting strudel sheet.
Place strudel on a buttered baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
Bake strudel for 60 to 90 minutes in a 400 degrees F to 425 degrees F (200 to 220 degrees Celsius) oven.

I found a great recipe for apple struder, but I don’t understand
1. How to roast butter with bread crumbs?
2. What’s a strudel sheet?
3. this sentence: "Tear off edges, shape strudel into by lifting strudel sheet"
Well, I did exactly as told, but after I finished baking it, the pastry was tough while the filling was too soft. Was it supposed to be like this?

1. And how was I supposed to cut the apple? Sliced really thinly?

2. When I applied the filling, should it have been wet (remove the lemon juice) or added the juice along?

3. And could you describe how is it suppose to look/taste like after you bake it?

I would say to make a slight change to the recipe, and melt your butter, and that is what you will spread onto 2/3 of dough sheet, then sprinkle with breadcrumbs and spread the apple filling.
A strudel sheet is a large cloth, well floured, that you place under your strudel dough before you start making it. Studel dough should be rolled out to paper thin, you should be almost able to read a newspaper through it. Because the dough is rolled out so thin, it also tears easily, so the last directions about lifting the strudel sheet means to use the cloth to help you start rolling the strudel dough.

IM WRITING IN CAPS SO YOU CAN SEE THAT IVE EDITED MY FIRST ANSWERS IN RESPONSE TO YOUR NEW COMMENTS ABOUT THE FAILED ATTEMPT. I LOOKED OVER THE RECIPE AGAIN AND COMPARED IT TO A RECIPE I HAVE FOR STRUDEL. AND THE TEMPERATURE AND LENGTH OF BAKING SEEMS TO BE TOO HOT AND TOO LONG. MY RECIPE HAS THE OVEN AT 375 FOR 45 MIN. THE APPLES YOU CAN CUT INTO SMALL DICE OR THIN SLICES, AND THE FILLING WILL BE MOIST, BUT DRAIN OFF WHAT LIQUID YOU CAN, YOU DONT WANT IT TO BE TOO WET. THE END RESULT SHOULD HAVE BE A FAIRLY FLAKY PASTRY, THATS WHY IT IS ROLLED OUT SO THIN AND ROLLED WITH SO MANY LAYERS. HOPE THIS HELPS.

i have went about 4 years now with severe back pains and i cannot find a doctor to listen to me. im 22yrs old and have had back and neck pain since about 18. the first time was lifting a 300lbs. roll of unprinted news paper. that ended up screwing up my lower back. then when i was 18 i got smashed and my friend dared me to do a backflip off his roof (i could do one off his porch so i tryed it). that completelyu messed up my upper back and neck (i landed on the back of my neck and my chin ended up in the center of my chest). then awhile later i was skateboarding and bent my mid back in half on a hand rail. i cant find a doctor to do anything about it because they think since im so young im lying and just want pills or something. its basicly gotten to the point where it hurts to do anything. even sitting or laying down is painful and i cannot stand too long either without my neck, back, and leg hurting. how do i get a doctor to listen to me?

If a Doctor gives you pain medication that is not appropriate or causes you to become addicted, he could face some very severe consequences..

For example if your Doctor were to give you Percocet or Oxycontin he could be legally liable in Civil Court for monetary damages, your doctor could be held criminally liable as well.

Your doctor could also lose his license to practice medicine.

I have read some of your other posts.

You seem to be quite familiar with Oxycontin and Percocet.

I remember one of your comments that you think that everyone is taking Percocet.

You have probably said some things like this to your doctor as well.

Your doctor is probably thinking that if everyone that you know is taking Percocet, you are probably involved in the drug culture.

Your doctor is probably thinking that you are trying to get these drugs by prescription and you are just faking the pain to get him to prescribe them to you.

Your doctor is probably thinking about the risk to his license to practice medicine, about the possible Civil Liability that he could face and even the possible Criminal liability that he could face if he were to prescribe one of these drugs to you.

For example what would happen to your doctor if it was later determined that the prescription was not appropriate, that you did not have the pain that you say you have, you became addicted to them, were selling them to other people or are already addicted to them and you are just trying to get your doctor to feed your drug habit.

If you want your doctor to listen to you the first thing that you must do is stop hanging around with people who are illegally taking drugs like percocet and oxycontin.

You then must learn to stop talking like you are a member of the drug culture.

I need 1 and 1/3 cups of flour for a pie crust….. But i only have 1 cup! What can i use instead of flour…

Here’s the recipe…
1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup Crisco vegetable shortening, plain or butter-flavored (see Cook’s Note)
1/2 teaspoon kosher or coarse salt
3 tablespoons ice water
Mix flour and salt in mixing bowl. Cut shortening into the flour with a pastry cutter, until mixture resembles the texture of tiny split peas. Do not use your hands to try and mix it, the heat from you hands will melt the shortening, causing the pastry to be "heavy", not light and flaky.
Once mixture is the right texture, add the ice water and combine with a fork. It may appear as if it needs more water, it does not. Quickly gather the dough into a ball and flatten into a 4-inch-wide disk. Wrap in plastic, and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
Remove dough disk from refrigerator. If stiff and very cold, let stand until dough is cool but malleable.
Using a floured rolling pin, roll dough disk on a lightly floured surface from the center out in each direction, forming a 12-inch circle. To transfer dough, carefully roll it around the rolling pin, lift and unroll dough, centering it in an ungreased 9-inch regular or deep-dish pie plate. (Or you can fold dough in quarters, then place dough point in center of pie pan and unfold dough, whatever is easiest for you.)
THank you sooo much!

You’lll need even more flour, because when you roll out the dough, the table, etc and the rolling pin have to be floured.

I suggest you go buy some more flour, or see if you can borrow a cup or so of flour form a neighbor or friend that lives close by.

I would just like to know where my boyfriend stands at work. He works in a warehouse, where he is constantly having to lift and carry rolls of rubber, which can most of the time be on average of 70 kg per roll. He and two other workers can be expected to unload and dispatch tons of this every week. There is no lifting equipment to help them with this. They are also expected to climb onto stillages which can be stacked three to four stillages high as the aisles are to narrow to get a fork lift truck down, to pick these rolls of rubber. Is this legal for his boss to expect this from him. They are always complaining of bad backs, and one has just today called an ambulance as he had injured his back trying to unload these rolls off a container. Please can you give any advice to this matter.

The Health and Safety Executive state that The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 set no specific requirements such as weight limits.

They leave it down to companies to do a Health & Safety Assessment of working activities. He needs to talk to his manager about the weights and how it is affecting his job. It may be easier if colleagues all mention this.

I’ve been on a pretty good workout program for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I’ve noticed gains in endurance, strength, and size, but I really want to build my forearms up. I want to know the best technique for this. I’ve got a large wooden dowel that I drilled a hole in and I attach a freeweight by rope to it. I use the "rolling" technique to lift it up off the ground and down again. Is there anything else I could do?

You could do hammer curls. Instead of the traditional bicep curl, hold your weights at your side with your wrists facing each other. Then just curl up, keeping your wrists facing each other, like you’re hammering a nail. Pick a weight where you can only do about 8 reps. That will help build muscle in the forearm.

Can anyone tell me when their little ones did the above, our girlf was 5 weeks early and most books and things say that preemies may hit milestones later than term babies but I cant help thinking she is a bit lazy at the moment.
She has rolled onto one side once and thats it, if you lie her down on any surface she will just lie there turning her head and bringing her legs right up but no rolling.
If you put her on her front she will not lift her head at all really, she just moves it left and right scraping her nose and forehead on the carpet then screams.
Just interested to know what others experienced and at what point in time we should consult someone (if ever)

dont worry about it, im a mum of 4 and my youngest is 6mths so im still fresh at remembering,
at 4 months- 16weeks- my bub still held her head to one side only and my dr said her stregnth will improve and within a few weeks it got much better, she hated tummy time and at 4mths would also do what your bub does, and scraped her face along the carpet and cry, but i just persisted cos dr said it would improve her head stregnth, a few minutes here and there in the day and within 2 weeks u will see a difference in her stregnth
my bub is 6 mths and has only rolled 3 times, shes lazy, and chubby

and considering your little one was 5 weeks early you have no need to worry, she will get there in another month or so,
my bub was slower than some babies at head stregnth and rolling and so on, but shes always given the thumbs up at the maternal health centre and by my dr, shes healthy and fits in the average for her milestones, dont worry if u get answers saying their kids did things early, all bubs r different
good luck, take care, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
