I have a ‘96 Ford F-150. The original truck bed liner had been sold and i am now in a bind. Should i leave the bed as it is, with just the metal, or should i get a liner?

Can you use a regular plywood on a boat if you are going to seal it well with something like a truck bed roll on liner?
